Bolo the Clown returned to visit with his friends at the Wilson Avenue Church of Christ in Tullahoma, TN. He was so excited to get to go back and visit with them once again. Bolo thought they were having a PowWow and was looking forward to seeing Indians and Teepees and campfires... What a surprise when he arrived imagine his surprise when he was told that it wasn't a PowWow, it was a Luau!!! Well, they sorta sounded alike! Despite the initial mix up, Bolo came ready for some fun and fun they had. He had is trusty assistant, JoJo the Clown who is always ready to lend a helping hand. And this time, there was a special treat. It was the debut of SoSo the Clown. She was so excited to be part of the Bolo family! She performed her first "magic" trick. The famous, "Pull a rabbit outta yer hat" trick. It looked like she was as excited as the kids when the rabbit "popped out".
There were lots of little volunteers to help Bolo, JoJo and SoSo. The Luau was great, although Bolo kept giving the boys a hard time because they were wearing skirts (grass, that is). There were lots of fun, jokes, stories and tricks to keep the kids involved.
After Bolo concluded his program, there was a cookout, with games and lots more fun. The children are truly blessed to have people like the Weddington's that love them and want them to meet Jesus for themselves.
LifeGate church in Madison, AL hosted a Back to School bash at the church on the 9th of August. The had lots of fun including silly songs, games and puppets. Have you ever tried to gargling while singing "Jesus Loves Me"? If so, you will fit right in at LifeGate. Finally Bolo the Biker Dude got to do his thing...whatever that is!
You should have seen Pastor Penton when Bolo took a pair of scissors and cut his tie! But not to worry, Bolo put it back together. Bolo had lots of fun and told lots of stories. He is still trying to perfect his juggling, and the audience is hoping that one day he will finally get it right.
Bolo is looking forward to returning to LifeGate someday and having more fun with the great people of LifeGate.
Bolo's next appearance will be back at Jackson Avenue Church of Christ on the 22d of August at 7:00pm. Everyone is welcome!
Well, it was bound to happen. Bolo has been wanting a motorcycle all his adult(?) life. He has finally got one and joined a "biker gang". He has joined the "Azuza StreetRiders (ASR) Motorcycle Ministry" based out of Myrtle Beach. It is an international group whose charter is to minister and share God's love to the biker community. Bolo is really excited to have been accepted into such a great group. The TN/AL Azuza StreetRiders are planning a big 4 day ride starting in Nashville with stops in Tupelo at the Tupelo Children's Mansion and New Beginnings. We will spend a few hours with the folks in Tupelo and then jump on our "rides" and head out. Other stops will be Mobile, Pensacola, Panama City, Birmingham and Madison, AL. It is going to be a great time. the ASRs are getting a special Tshirt for the ride. It is being designed by David Fannin of Fayetteville, TN. He did a great job. Well stayed tuned for more stories on Bolo the Clown and Bolo the Biker Dude. Have one of them come to your church activity and you will be blessed.
The fellowship hall was decorated with colorful balloons and posters. Everyone was excited about the pizza and a surprise that Gerald and Michelle Weddington, the children's leaders had promised them. You see, the Weddington's knew that their kids deserved more than an ordinary pizza party!
Bolo bounced into the room ready for a great time of fun and laughs. He taught about Jesus feeding the 5000 with the fishes and loaves. They laughed at Bolo as he told them about his new job with the city of Tullahoma and his problems with the traffic lights.
They were amazed as one of their own friends pulled a rabbit out of a hat!
They got nervous as Bolo poured water into a glass and then dumped it onto one of their friends heads...but the water had disappeared!
They even picked the right card when they were looking for the "King of Hearts".
Then when they thought that things couldn't get any more fun...they went outside and were treated to a Choo-Choo train ride throughout the neighborhood.
All this and a pizza party to boot! The Kids of Wilson Ave. Church of Christ are surely blessed to have leaders that love them enough to put all this together, just for them!
On the 3d of June Bolo the Clown ministered during the annual "Children's Day" for the Sunday School Department at Westside United Pentecostal Church (UPC). When Bolo arrived the children had already had a great time in Sunday School and had learned a new song for Father's Day (shhhhh..... don't tell anyone, it's suppose to be a surprise)
Bolo got things going with his theme song "What if Cartoons got saved?" Superman (James Monroe) assisted Bolo by shooting a balloon off Bolo's head!!! You should have seen it! It was truly amazing!
The children were told about when Jesus multiplied the fish and loaves and fed the multitude...they especially enjoyed the FIRE!!!!
Then they practiced their ABCs...even though SOMEBODY lost the "B" for a while! Bolo told the children the dangers of GOSSIP and showed them how no matter how "big" your sins are, Jesus Christ can make you white as snow.
Bolo showed how our sins are washed away through the blood of Jesus never to be remembered again, Praise God!
Stay tuned for photos of this event. We will be adding them over the next few days.
We all had a great time during Children's Day and look forward to next year! Westside Sunday School is a blast. If you don't go to Sunday School and would like to, just give the church a call and they will pick you up and you can be part of the best Sunday School in Tullahoma!!!!!

While visiting Ft Belvoir in Virginia, Bolo the Clown decided to pay a visit to the local Children's Hospital cancer ward. Bolo was able to visit with about 15 children that were either patients or siblings of patients. Because of hospital policy, Bolo had to use abbreviated face-paint, but the children were thrilled to see the clown. It was one of those times where you go to be a blessing to others and end up being blessed ourselves. Our prayers continue to go out these children and their families.
Bolo was the featured guest at the Cash Point Baptist Church Upwards Basketball Awards program recently. Here are a couple of pictures taken at the event. One is of Pastor Moose and Bolo (clown on left/Pastor on right). And the other is a picture of Bolo in action. Bolo was very nervous since JoJo wasn't able to go to Cash Point in Ardmore, he thought that the engagement was in "Baltimore" and wasn't able to attend. Since he is the "Boss" clown, Bolo was a little nervous, but JoJo was able to send instructions for all the tricks and stories...
Nobody was seriously injured and after a while, Bolo actually enjoyed the fact that JoJo wasn't there. The children enjoyed the story of the fishes and loaves that Jesus multiplied and were surprised when Bolo illustrated the story, complete with a flaming bowl!
Cash Point is definately a talented church, Bolo brought one little girl out of the audience and without even being told how to do it, she pulled a rabbit out of Bolo's hat...now if Bolo could only figure out how to do that!
